Align The Agency founder Roisin Scanlan talks about her proudest moments
business women of the week
Roisin Scanlan, founder of boutique Dublin-based PR and Event Management agency, Align The Agency, looking after incredible brands and high profile clients. How did you get your start in the industry? Growing up I always had an interest in the Beauty and Fashion Industry, in particular, the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of how everything worked as well as the advertising and marketing side of brands. This led me to complete a degree in Marketing and Event Management, which is the perfect base, in my opinion, for a career in PR. Although you don’t learn the ins and outs of the industry from books, it’s all about getting stuck in. While studying, I set up a blog, which was a very new thing in 2010. PR Agencies and brands jumped on the trend quite quickly, so I got a great insight into the industry in Ireland from a blogger’s perspective, which still serves me to this day. I started interning and then held Marketing and PR roles within a variety of brands in Dublin before moving into a leading Agency prior to launching my own. How did you find the courage to branch out on your own to find Align The Agency?
