With the price of everything from food to electricity to rent rising at unforeseen levels, it can be hard to spare some change for things we deem as unessential like a seasonal wardrobe refresher.
The clothes we put on everyday have a lot to say for how we feel as we go about our daily tasks, and help us to present an image of ourselves to the world around us.

Charity Shop Hunting
A trip to you local charity shop might not be the luxury you have in mind when you think of rejuvenating your closet, but these places are like treasure troves for one of a kind fashion that will spice up your style.
TikTok star Verona Farrell (@secondhandhuns) shares her favorite local haunts for fishing out fabulous fashion in the cluttered chaos of the charity shops.
She recommends the likes of the NCBI, Oxfam, St. Vincent DePaul and Irish Cancer Society shops for snagging a new favorite for a lower price than you'll find in the high-street retailers or big brand stores.
The content creator recommends trying to seek out shops that are located in wealthier areas if you're someone seeking out the big brand name clothing items.
Swap Shop Events
Swap shops and clothes sharing events are becoming more and more popular across the country as fashion fanatics aim to re-style themselves without breaking the bank.
These events entail bringing along some of your old and unloved pieces so they can find a new home, and in turn you get to pick up some new bits to mix up your own style completely free of charge.
Events have taken place across the island from Cork to Galway to Dublin, with information shared by Cork Clothes Swap on Instagram sharing that often times the number of clothes re-homed is more than the number donated- meaning that attendees of these events have seen great success in their fashion endeavors.
If swapping with strangers isn't your cup of tea, organising a clothes swap with friends or neighbours is another great way to give new life to your wardrobe. You might even get that jacket you've been eyeing up from your friends wardrobe.
