Energy credits
It was outlined that all domestic electricity customers will get €450 off their electricity bills. The energy credit will be paid in 3 instalments of €150.
The first payment will be made in December 2023, the second will be made in January 2024 and the third will be made in March 2024.
To be considered eligible for the electricity credits, you must be registered as either of the following, or you won’t get the credit:
An urban domestic customer (classified as DG1)
A rural domestic customers (classified as DG2)
The credit applies to every domestic electricity account, which means that if you have multiple homes in Ireland with a domestic electricity account you get the credit for each account.
It also doesn’t matter if you have a pre-pay meter as your supplier will contact you by text, email or on your top-up note to tell you the credit has been applied to your account.
