Daithi O Se has been banned from talking about his hair transplant by RTE.
The Today Show host explained that he was told by the public broadcaster that told he couldn’t speak about the procedure on RTE, which followed his radio appearance on The Nine O’Clock Show.
He got the hair transplant just before Christmas last year and recently opened up about the decision.

After getting the transplant done at Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic, Daithi went on to become their brand ambassador.
However, after chatting to Oliver Callan about his experience on RTE Radio 1, he was spoken to by bosses at Montrose.
“I was on the understanding that I couldn’t speak about it on my own show. That was fine,” he told The Irish Sun.
“But it was mentioned to me after that I couldn’t talk about it on any other RTE platforms either. I told (RTE), ‘Yes, if I know the rules I will stick by them’.”
It comes after Director General Kevin Bakhurst stated that influencer presenters will be banned from promoting brands in Montrose studios under a new Register of Interests. This past summer, he said it was a “matter of urgency”.
Daithi shared that his appearance on The Nine O’Clock Show was pre-arranged and that he had been called early that same morning to come on and chat about his hair transplant.
“I woke up at 7am, and at 7.30am, the researcher rang and asked would I come on that at 9am to tell my story to Oliver. That’s how it happened,” the RTE star said.
He defended his decision to work as the clinic’s brand ambassador, saying: “My relationship with RTE is such that I am not on a three or five-year contract. I am only on a contract for eight months a year with no certainty that my show is coming back.
“So I don’t have a full-time job. I am not a member of staff, I work for eight months a year so when opportunities like this come, you’d be a fool to turn them down.” And Daithi stressed he had discussed his decision to get the hair transplant and become an ambassador with the clinic with RTE bosses before going ahead.
Daithi stated that he had requested permission from RTE to get the hair transplant and become an ambassador before undergoing the procedure.
He revealed: “I asked RTE. It went all the way up the line and it came back eventually. It took them a long time to give it the go-ahead.
“If they’d had said ‘no’ to me being a brand ambassador, I would have still gone ahead and got (the hair transplant) done. People were going to end up talking about my hair anyway.”
The television presenter added: “I could only be a brand ambassador for something I can stand over and believe in.”
