Karen shared that over the pandemic, her online classes really brought her attention to the demand for more professional dance classes outside of Dublin.
Karen said: "During Covid I did a lot of online classes in my studio, and I feel like there's so much interest for dancing outside of Dublin.
"People outside of Dublin are saying they watch Dancing With The Stars and would love to learn all that style of dancing, but there's no classes in their area."
Karen shared that fans of the show have expressed their interest in different forms of dance, from the Waltz to the Tango, but simply can't find classes offered locally in their region
She shared that herself and other pro dancers Stephen Vincent and Kylee Vincent wanted to figure out a way to bring dance classes to everyone.
Talking about how the Dance Into Christmas idea came to life, Karen said: "Stephen and Kylee actually came to me with the idea, and explained it for me.
"[As well as the demand for dance classes] a lot of people are looking for something different to get somebody for Christmas, so just the idea all rolled into one."
The DWTS pro shared that the classes offered in the virtual calendar cater to a range of audiences, and they can be taken as seriously or as easy as you wish.
She said: "It's not just for one specific audience, it can be for adults, kids, people that have dance experience, people that don't- we kind of catered for everybody.
"My rule was that it had to be so simple to use that even my dad could use it- it's not too techy that people wouldn't understand."
The dancer highlighted the fun of the calendar sharing that it would be a great way to get the whole family active over the festive season.
She said: "It's something you can do not just on your own, but with your family, and everybody can join in over Christmas."
