Let's face it, tensions are pretty high right now, and we're all worrying about our family members, our health, our jobs...The list goes on.
It's good to have a calm space in your home that you can escape to when it all gets too much - so we chatted to Marie Cummins, better known on Instagram as My Organised Nest, for her top tips.
"By setting up your home to make daily life easier and elicit a sense of calm you'll be able to unwind and enjoy relaxation which we all need at a trying time like this," she told RSVP Live.
"My relaxation area is my sunroom, and OK not everyone has a sunroom, but you too can create a relaxation area in your home."
Marie suggests positioning your calm space either in or near the outdoors.
"A seat in your garden perhaps, or simply place a seat near a window to get the best possible nature view," she recommended.
The organisation enthusiast also stressed the importance of decluttering your home.
"If your space and home feels overwhelming from clutter and disorganisation you'll probably have a hard time relaxing.
"Don't get me wrong, my home is messy at times from toys and laundry (like most households) but when it comes to putting my items away, this only takes minimal time as I have an organised system in place already.
"The benefits of an organised home and now more so than ever for those of us that are working from home is that it can increase your productivity.
"By keeping organised, you will save time looking for things and will have more time to work on important tasks. Clean homes and organised spaces are proven to reduce stress."
Want to declutter your home but not sure how to tackle it? Marie recommends choosing a designated space or room in your home and starting there.
"Divide items into three categories: Keep, Donate and Toss. Purge and declutter; be honest and ask yourself, when was the last time I used this? Is it broken? Do I love it?" she said.
"Once you have gone through everything and are left with your keep items the key here is to maintain a place for everything and everything in it's place. Return items to their home on a daily basis."
Marie at My Organised Nest specialises in and provides home and seasonal decorating, organisation and decluttering service.
