Fair City legend Eamonn Morrissey has lifted the lid on his long-stabbing marriage to his wife Anne.
The actor, who plays the lovable character of Cass, has been married for 55 years - he joked that the secret to their successful romance is that they couldn’t find anything better.
The couple live in the seaside town of Dalkey in south Dublin and Anne took control of minding the household and their kids while Eamonn followed his dream of acting.

Eamonn told RSVP Live: “My wife’s memory isn’t great so I’m around at home a lot of the time.
“We have been together for 55 years so my marriage is a big part of my life.
“There are three of us here, we also have a little white dog who has moved in and taken over our world, particularly Anne’s. She controls everything.”
Eamonn and Anne have a strong friendship and that’s the foundation of their marriage.
He explained: “Once you are friends and you have a strong friendship you really care for each other.
“Anne has cared a lot for me over the years, especially the years where I was on tour. I spent far too much of my life on tour.
“But it was necessary because that is where the money came from. Anne looked after the kids at home and the household.”
Away from Fair City, Eamonn is big into staying up to date with the news.
He said: “I am very interested in news and current affairs. I am a bit of a news freak, there is always a television and a radio on at the same time in our house. I am happy with that."
Fair City fans were shocked when Jim Bartley, who plays Bela Doyle, left the show recently, and Eamonn has no plans to retire as of now.
He said: “It would be more likely that Fair City will leave me.
“I wouldn’t like to leave it, I am right at the heart of it. I have been on the show for 15 years now and I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did.
“I didn’t realise how closely the show is watched by the viewers, they pick up on every detail, which is amazing.”
Eamonn still enjoys embodying Cass and portraying his mad storylines.
He added: “I love the character of Cass because he is always going two ways at the same time.
“He is full of plans that never come to fruition. But he always keeps going.”
