A spokesperson has said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.
"She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."
Her exit comes just says after she admitted to campmate Josie Gibson: “I’ve had enough. I’ve completely had enough. I just want to go home.”
The 50 year old is a well known food critic and journalist, and is no stranger to our TV screens as she often appears on Masterchef.
Her experience in the jungle hadn't all been plain sailing, with a medic having to intervene at one point due to a cockroach burrowing in her ear.
During a split-camp challenge called the Scarena, Grace was wearing a clear helmet full of the creepy crawlies, when one managed to lodge itself in her ear. Emergency medics had to step in and wash the cockroach from her ear canal after it went rogue.
Ahead of landing in Australia for the programme, Grace revealed she “said yes” to signing up for the show after having undergone “a really difficult time over the last four or five years”.
She told ITV: “My dad had dementia, I cared for him and I lost him. Mum had cancer and I lost her. I think that this has made me very strong and resilient. This is going to be a big challenge and now I am older, life is for living and it’s one of the reasons why I said yes.”
