Everyone has their own way of making the perfect cuppa.
From how long to the tea bag is left to brew to the amount of milk, sugar or sweetener that’s used, there are many ways to enjoy the country’s favourite hot drink.
We all like our cup of tea a certain way, and it can certainly cause rows if someone makes it wrong.
But, tea drinkers- did you know that there is a way to make the ideal cup of tea?
Students at the University of Leicester ’s maths department have worked out a formula for getting the most flavour from your cuppa.
So, how do they suggest you make the perfect cup of tea?
According to their research, the tea bag needs to be left in the boiling water for two minutes to brew and allow the tea leaves to infuse. Then, the tea should be left for thirty seconds to rest before the tea bag is removed from the cup. After this, add in around 10 ml of cool milk.
Enjoy with a biscuit or sweet treat for the perfect cup of tea.
Meanwhile, according to etiquette expert Neil Philips, most of us make a crucial mistake when stirring our cup of tea.
It seems we should be stirring the tea in straight lines from top to the bottom of the top of your mug , not circling around it.
Speaking to The Mirror, Neil explains: "It is about going from six to 12 very gently."
"If you're adding sugar it will allow it to dissolve properly. If you just stir it it will all fall to the bottom."
"You don’t need to do it for long, just a few goes."
"It just allows the tea and milk to blend together."
