If you are looking for a new podcast to become obsessed with then look no further because fashion and beauty trailblazer Ashley McDonnell is set to make her mark on the podcasting industry with her latest venture, 'Tech Powered Luxury'.
The Galway native has added another notch to her belt as her latest move explores the unison of luxury and technology, delving into the minds of industry leaders.
New episodes release every Tuesday and will see Ashley explore the meaning of luxury and technology, covering everything from meta-fashion to influencer marketing, the role of AR and VR in the future of fashion and beauty, the impact of big tech in launching modern luxury brands and how digital is redefining heritage Maisons.
Ashley told RSVP Live: “The Tech and Luxury industries are two of the biggest globally in terms of market value, reaching $1.6 trillion and $303 billion respectively in 2021.
"Tech Powered Luxury is not just a podcast, but also a YouTube series and an MBA course at HEC Paris, where I did my own Masters in Management in 2015. Over the last 10 years, it’s technology that has majorly shaken up the luxury industry, and democratised the market by bringing new channels and opportunity for brands and international talent to develop. "

So what inspired the idea? The host told us: "My goal with Tech Powered Luxury is two-folder. Firstly, to provide an educational and informative platform for anyone who dreams of working at the crossroads of luxury and technology, and secondly, to give people already in this space the much-needed, industry-insider knowledge on how to harness the power of technology effectively”.
Confirmed guests for Season 1 include the founder of Irish skincare and supplement brand Seabody, Dr Helena McMahon, Global Head of luxury at Snapchat, Geoffrey Perez, and COO of Exclusible, Olivier Moingeon. Founders of digital couture brand Auroboros, Alissa Aulbekova and Paula Sello, as well as founder of Parklu, Kim Leitzes and Irish jewellery brand founder Chupi Sweetman, Vice President of Farfetch, Alexis Bonhomme are also set to make an appearance.
Ashley has fast become a force to be reckoned within the luxury fashion and beauty industry, carving an impressive career before she reached 30. She began her career in Paris and at just 22, became Digital Manager at the global headquarters of Dior. In 2019 Ashley returned to Ireland to join Google’s EMEA hub as Global Luxury Account Manager and has since then been based between Geneva, Paris and Dublin.
Recently appointed Chairperson of Digital Business Ireland, Ashley also sits on the board of multiple luxury, fashion and technology start-ups and was a candidate for the Forbes 30 Under 30 EMEA list in 2022. As an expert in digital media and online sales, you definitely do not want to miss this.
