Joanna Donnelly has said it was a big change to see Evelyn Cusack and Jean Byrne retire from Met Éireann.
The pair, who were very familiar faces to RTÉ viewers, stepped away from the meteorological and broadcasting roles over the last two years.
Jean's exit was confirmed in January 2022 and Evelyn announcement her retirement back in June.

Joanna told RSVP Live: "They have given their service and they’ve put their time in. I worked with them for 28 years, so it was a big change."
Joanna has also been working on new projects away from her day-to-day job with Met Eireann with the release of her new book, From Malin Head to Mizen Head: A Journey around the Sea Area.
She said: "It is nerve wracking whenever you put something of yours out into the public because people are going to review it.
"I took a journey around all the headlands of Ireland and I got to meet people and discover more about the history of the area.
"We spoke about the various weather events and how they affected things. It is about the places, the people and science behind the weather."
Joanna revealed exactly how the weather works on the island of Ireland and she confirmed that Galway is wetter than Dublin.
She said: "Dublin is quite dry because we have a prevailing wind that is from a south westerly direction.
"In between us and the south west are the Wicklow Mountains, which are actually quite high. So when the air comes up over the Wicklow Mountains it loses its moisture. Dublin is also on the ‘lee side’ of the mountain, which is always drier.
"Galway is on the Atlantic coast, and the Atlantic sea is a big source of water.
"The weather travelling over the sea will drop its moisture at the first location. Drizzle and rain tend to affect western racing coasts more than east facing coasts."

Joanna often gets stopped when she is out and about as people recognise her from her weather reports on RTÉ.
She said: "I have a familiar face, but I am not famous as such. If I go to a public gathering people will recognise me, but they won’t know where they recognise me from.
"They will look at me for a while and then say ‘That’s who she is’. I could be in a room and there will be someone glaring at me.
"I think to myself, did I spoil his daughter's wedding or did I tell him that the bouncy castle I booked for his grandchild was going to be a success?"
