Keith Barry says there are no plans to bring back his RTE Saturday night show at the moment.

The magician and hypnotist showcased his very best brain hacking work on celebrities and members of the public on The Keith Barry Experience which last aired in 2022.

The TV series saw Keith perform some impressive stunts as well as break into the minds of stars such as Una Healy and Brian Dowling.

Keith’s current work schedule means he has no time to film a new series at the moment but would love to offer a new show to RTE bosses.

“I’m fully booked through to next summer, so right there are no plans, but I’m definitely very open to doing more television here,” he told RSVP Live.

“I’ve done television pretty consistently since 2003, on and off. Certainly in the back of my head, given recent RTE news, I’m keeping an eye on what they are doing with their TV shows.

“I’d like to marry up with a production company and bring a really fresh and new idea to RTE.

“I’m definitely interested, but right now I don’t have the bandwidth for it to be honest.”

Keith will soon be back on tour with his brand new show Mind Games, which comes to Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre in the new year.

The showman says audiences can expect something different compared to his previous tours.

He said: “I’m really excited, it’s the first time I will ever play the Bord Gais.

“For me, it’s all about the audience on the night, you’ll have everyone from 14-year-olds, to 80-year-olds, and really, the major difference between this show and other shows I’ve done is that it’s fully interactive.

“At one point the whole audience will have their mind hacked. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Keith has been performing mind blowing tricks and stunts for years now, so it is important to him that his shows always offer something new, different and exciting for the audience.

“I feel the pressure that my shows have to always be different, not just from the previous year but every year,” he explained.

“I have done 20 live tours at this stage and I cross reference all of them to make sure they don’t cross over with each other so it’s always fresh and new and that there is plenty of variety.

“When it comes to casual creativity, it just comes naturally to me when I sit down to write a show. These days, I name my show first and backtrack all the material and demonstrations around that.”

While Keith impresses the whole world with his work, the same can’t be said for home life with wife Mairead and children Breanna and Braden.

“I’d love to say the kids are mega impressed, but I’m just dad,” he said.

“I’m a zany, mad, crazy dad, they’ll tell you that themselves.

“I’m always encouraging them to do crazy things. I taught them the alphabet backwards when they were three years old.

“They come to my live shows and they enjoy them, but other than that behind the scenes I’m just dad.”

Keith Barry, the world’s leading TV hypnotist, mentalist and brain hacker, is bringing his show 'Mind Games' to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Saturday 27 January 2024. Tickets from €35.05 including booking fee on sale now from Ticketmaster.ie.
