Here is some advice you can follow should you need to drive in rainy, flood conditions, courtesy of the RSA:
- Avoid crossing a road covered in water.
- Wait until water levels have dropped.
- If road is flooded, choose another route. The floods can be deeper than you think.
- If road is partially flooded, drivers should pass through water one at a time.
- After going through water, drive slowly with your foot on and off the brake pedal for a short distance to help dry the brakes.
- If road is flooded as a result of a river bursting it's banks, turn back and do not try driving through it.
County Down is also under a yellow weather warning.
"Heavy rain this evening and for a time early Saturday, may lead to some disruption to transport and utilities," the warning reads.
