People are getting rid of their heated airers in favour of a “game-changer” appliance that dries your clothes even faster.
Instead of hiking up your electricity or energy bills by relying on your tumble dryer or radiators, you can easily fix this problem.
Mrs Hinch fans have shared their love of dehumidifiers as alternatives to heated airers when drying clothes in the colder months.

Speaking about their experiences with dehumidifiers, people explained how quickly they noticed a difference in their home.
One person posted: “For those of you concerned about getting laundry dry:- Yesterday we experimented using our dehumidifier instead of the tumble drier. We got one of those indoor washing lines (in my childhood it would have been a "Tidy Dry"), hung the washing on it, and let the machine do its work.
“The results were impressive. It dried everything in about 4 hours, although to be fair we had hung it out on the line for the morning. I am told it costs about 7p per hour. Our dehumidifier came from Aldi.”
Another Mrs Hinch fan commented: “I have just bought a dehumidifier with laundry setting to get my washing dry… it’s a game changer, full wash load dry in few hours, thick jeans take little longer. Would 100% recommend”.
A third person explained: “I use a dehumidifier to help dry my washing. I also find I don’t need heating on as much, as rooms feel much more comfortable. Even last night in -4 deg. Game changer”.
A fourth commenter said: “I have just bought a dehumidifier, the amount of water they get out of the air is staggering. I need to get an airer so I can dry my washing. The device has a setting to dry clothes.”
With another person adding: “Not only helping with damp and condensation but you're right about drying clothes in about 3/4 hours. That includes heavy clothes too. The room feels so much warmer. I wish I'd known years ago as it's taken days for clothes to dry and leaving a window open has meant my home was cold.”
If you are interested in trying out a dehumidifier, you can get an affordable version on Amazon here for €54.
