Ronan Keating responds to the news that his son Jack has become a father for the first time

Boyzone icon Ronan Keating has reacted to the news that his son Jack appears to have become a father for the first time.

Jack took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share that he "welcomes" a little bundle of joy into his life.

Posting a sweet black and white photograph cradling the newborn in his arms, Jack said: "Welcome to the world my little (princess emoji."

While many of his friends and followers remarked their delight at the news, others pointed out that they can't believe Ronan may now be a grandfather.

Responding to his son's Instagram post, Ronan wrote: "Little cutie" and completed his comment with a heart emoji.

Fans have congratulated Ronan for "becoming a granddad."

"Big congratulations on becoming a grandad, it’s the best feeling in the world," said one.

"Congratulations on becoming a grandad. You must be very proud. Wishing you all the love, happiness and health with this little princess," said another.

"Congratulations Grandad. So close to having the same Birthday, enjoy every minute," another penned, referring to Ronan's birthday which was on March 3rd.
