Craig Revel Horwood is one of the most recognisable faces in UK and Irish television.

The iconic Aussie dancer has been a judge on Strictly Come Dancing ever since the show's first season in 2004.

Craig is known for his quite direct critiques, dry humour and "fab-u-lous" catchphrases and we can't imagine Strictly without him.

When he's not busy judging celebrities on Saturday nights or choreographing award-winning musicals, Craig is loved up with fiancé Jonathan.

Here is all you need to know about his love life - from his first marriage to ex-wife, candid proposal and wedding plans.

Craig Revel Horwood's first marriage to ex-wife

Craig was married to Jane Horwood in 1990 but the pair called it quits after just two years.

At the time, Craig identified as bisexual and envisioned a life with children.

Speaking to Kaye Adams on her How to Be 60 podcast, he said: "If that relationship had worked out, I could have seen a life where I would have been married to a woman and had kids, without a shadow of a doubt.

"'It's who you meet along the way and what changes it, it's quite extraordinary."

Craig remains good friends with his ex-wife these days.

He previously told Wales Online: "We are friends now, Jane and I, but it wasn’t very amicable at the time. Now we can go out for lunch and talk about life honestly. I love her deeply as a friend, now and forever, and wish her all the happiness in the world."

Craig Revel Horwood's fiancé

Craig is engaged to horticulturalist Jonathan Myring, who is 22 years younger then him.

The husbands-to-be met started dating back in 2018, with the Strictly legend telling The Sun at the time: "He's good looking, 5ft 10in, dark hair and beard. We met on the Strictly Tour a month ago.

"He came to the show with a friend and we met backstage. We plan on seeing each other a lot. We have all our weekends planned until Strictly."

Craig and Jonathan's 'slight disaster' engagement

Craig and Jonathan got engaged in 2020 during a trip to Tasmania, but not in the way that Jonathan had initially hoped.

"It was a slight disaster really," Jonathan told The Steph Show at the time. "I had a beautiful engagement planned in Tasmania and Craig refused to go and sit on the banks of the river to look for platypus. So I had to call him to frantically call him to go…"

Craig interrupted: "That's because the last time we waited for platypus, it was four hours and we didn't see one. So I wasn’t going to sit through that again, was I? All I wanted to do was go back to the hotel and have a bubble bath. Well I jumped in the bubble bath and then Jonathan jumped in with me and proposed in the bubble bath with a glass of champagne."

Craig Revel Horwood's wedding plans

Craig has moved his and Jonathan's wedding date around numerous times.

The expert choreographer was meant to walk down the aisle in 2022 before deciding to postpone the date to 2024.

But now it looks like the date will be pushed out again.

"It might be 2025, which is also my 60th and his 40th, to make it our 100th," the BBC star told the Daily Mail.

"We’ve booked for 2024 but I can see us pushing it back. We want the reception at home, so the house and gardens need to look gorgeous for the wedding photos."
