Victoria Mary Clarke, wife of The Pogues legend Shane MacGowan who sadly passed away this week, has shared a reflection on her relationship.
The Pogues frontman was 65 and had been ill for some time. He had been receiving treatment at St Vincent's Hospital for several months and was discharged and returned home recently to spend time with his friends and family.
Writer Victoria, who married Shane in 2018, has said that everyone should pursue love despite the risk of suffering loss.

Posting to X, formerly known as Twitter, she opened up about her grief:
"I am going to miss him so much! His smile, his eyes his laugh his sense of humour and his voice, every little part of him."
In another tweet, she said: "In the hospital the nurses kept asking why he was covered in lipstick.
If you get to meet your soulmate please do let love in even if you have to suffer loss."
She also posted some photos of them over the years.
In a statement shared on social media, The Pogues wrote: "It is with the deepest of sorrow and heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Shane MacGowan.
"Shane died peacefully at 3am this morning with his wife Victoria and family by his side.
Prayers and the last rites were read which gave comfort to his family.
He is survived by his wife Victoria, his sister Siobhan and his father, Maurice, family and a large circle of friends.”
Shane dated Victoria Mary Clarke for 32 years before they got married in Denmark back in November 2018.
The long-standing couple officially got married in the registry office at the Town Hall in Copenhagen before moving on to an evening reception in a restaurant in the Tivoli Gardens.
