In a statement on their website, the FSAI wrote: "Toxic Waste Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy is being recalled as there is a possibility the rolling ball may detach which could cause choking. The implicated products can be identified by their barcode (EAN: 898940001016).

"Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

"Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch."

The sweets are sold in a number of shops and websites in Ireland and are a sour and sweet liquid inside a component topped with a rolling ball that the consumer can lick to get to the liquid.

The country of origin of the sweet is the United States of America.

The alert comes as products from Dunnes, Tesco and Supervalu were recent recalled due to mislabelled ingredients.

The Dunnes Stores Simply Better Italian Calabrian Salami & Sausage Pizza was mispackaged and did not declare the presence of egg in the pizza.

For anyone who may be allergic or intolerant of egg, this could be potentially unsafe to consume. In a statement on the FSAI website, they wrote: "The above batch of Dunnes Stores Simply Better Italian Calabrian Salami & Sausage Pizza was mispacked with Dunnes Stores Simply Better Italian Piccante Pizza. This product contains egg which is not declared in the list of ingredients. This may make the batch unsafe for customers who are allergic to or intolerant of eggs."

They also issued an alert to anyone who has bought a specific butter product on Tesco or Supervalu's online platforms.

Due to a mistake on the online description, the Flora Buttery spread has been labelled as dairy free - however, it contains milk.

This could present issues for people who have bought it but are intolerant, allergic or unable to consume milk for any reason.
